Local Financial Advisor Appointed Leadership Role in Premier Financial Association

James Pittman, CLU, CFP, Named Secretary to Million Dollar Round Table

Portland, Ore. (September 1, 2014) — James Pittman, CLU, CFP, Founder and President of Insurance Consulting Services, Inc., in Portland, Ore., has been named Secretary of the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT), The Premier Association of Financial Professionals. Pittman’s five-year term on the Executive Committee, effective Sept. 1, 2014, will culminate in becoming MDRT President in 2018.

Pittman is a 40-year MDRT member, achieving several of the organization’s highest honors in regards to professional excellence with 14 Court of the Table and four Top of the Table qualifications. He is also a Diamond Knight in recognition of his cumulative contribution to the MDRT Foundation, the philanthropic arm of MDRT, and has served on its Board of Trustees.

As Secretary of MDRT, Pittman will support the Executive Committee by ensuring members serve clients with exemplary performance and the highest standards of ethics, knowledge, service and productivity by providing industry-leading articles, tools and networking opportunities.

“In my new role, I will help today’s top-performing advisors focus on achieving success at any stage of their career through MDRT’s invaluable resources, and continually support the association’s mission of excellent client service,” said Pittman.

Pittman has spoken at six MDRT Annual Meetings, the biggest event for the world’s leading financial service professionals. His leadership roles in MDRT include serving as Divisional Vice President of the following committees that help MDRT determine how to best serve members: Annual Meeting Program Development, Strategic Relations and twice for Membership Services.

Pittman, a 40-year veteran of the financial services industry, strives to educate his clients, and help them make informed decisions about their financial planning issues. In 2009, Pittman was honored with the prestigious Bud Horn award from the Oregon Association of Insurance and Financial Planners. This award is presented periodically to a professional who has shown dedicated commitment and has made a significant positive impact on the insurance community.

He is the past President of the Estate Planning Council of Portland, the Portland Chapter of CLU and ChFC, the Oregon Health Sciences Foundation (OHSF) advisory board, and has served on the Planned Giving Committees of the Oregon Ballet Theatre and Loaves and Fishes.
