To and From Airport

San Francisco International Airport (SFO) lies just 14 miles south of downtown San Francisco. Approximate time to downtown ranges between 20-30 minutes depending on the time of day and mode of transportation. Door-to-Door Van Services
Nearly a dozen door-to-door van services operate from all terminals at SFO. Fares average USD 15 – 20 per person.

Taxi
Taxi service is available from SFO to downtown. Approximate fare to a downtown destination is USD 40 – 50. Voluntary ride-sharing for two or more persons with a maximum of three destinations is permitted.

Car Rentals



Hertz Car Rental is the official ground transportation for Top of the Table. Reservations may be made by calling Hertz toll-free at +1 (800) 654-2240 and providing the convention number 02RA0028. You can also book online at www.hertz.com.

Auto rental counters are located in the centralized SFO Airport Car Rental Center. To access the Rental Car Center from the airport terminals, take the AirTrain Blue Line.

Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART)
BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) is a fast, convenient and inexpensive way to get from SFO or Oakland International Airport (OAK) to meetings in San Francisco. BART to downtown San Francisco costs USD 8.10 (SFO) and USD 3.80 (plus USD 3 for AirBART) and takes just a half hour.

The 103-mile BART system links eight San Francisco stations with San Francisco International Airport to the south and 29 stations in the East Bay. Trains operate seven days a week from 4 a.m. to midnight weekdays, 6 a.m. to midnight Saturdays, and 8 a.m. to midnight on Sundays.



Getting Around Town

San Francisco Municipal Railway (Muni)
San Francisco has one of the highest per capita transit riderships in the U.S. It's no wonder the Muni is a bargain. For more information on Muni passes, click here.

Cable Cars (operated by Muni)
Cable cars operate along three routes: the Powell-Hyde line; the Powell-Mason line; and the California Street line. Single ride, one-day and multi-day passes are available through Muni.

Muni Metro or Light Rail Vehicles
Muni operates underground downtown and on the streets in the outer neighborhoods. Six lines are available: J (Church), K (Ingleside), L (Taraval), M (Ocean), N (Judah), T (Third Street). Historic streetcars (F-line) operate along Market Street beginning in the Castro District and terminating at Fisherman's Wharf.

Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART)
The 103-mile BART system links eight San Francisco stations with San Francisco International Airport to the south and 29 stations in the East Bay. NOTE: The BART system operates separately from the Muni, and requires separate fares.

Golden Gate Transit
This bus service links San Francisco to Marin and Sonoma counties via the Golden Gate Bridge. Click here for more information.

AC Transit operates bus service to communities in the East Bay (Berkeley/Oakland and other cities in the Alameda and Contra Costa counties via the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge).

SamTrans
The San Mateo County Transit District offers bus service from San Francisco to San Francisco International Airport, and communities on the Peninsula as far south as Palo Alto.
