MDRT Productivity Action Plan

To help you better serve your clients, MDRT is pleased to offer the MDRT Productivity Action Plan, designed to provide a means to requalify for MDRT membership in 2021 and continued access to MDRT’s offerings when they are needed the most.
The membership production requirement is waived in 2021 for anyone who was an MDRT member in 2019 or 2020. Welcome back — you have earned it.
The 2021 production requirements for members prior to 2019 or those applying for the first time have been adjusted based on the effects of the pandemic. It’s only fair.
MDRT is fiscally sound in this economy and has no plans to increase dues in 2021. Dues will remain at USD 550

With the current challenges in our industry, MDRT membership requirements have been adjusted so you can have access to MDRT’s rich collection of resources, dynamic community and inspiring meetings offerings.
2019 and 2020
members
Welcome back! Since the membership production requirement has been waived, you only need to submit your production if you are applying for a level membership that is higher than what was achieved in 2019 or 2020.
Online membership applications will continue to be accepted and are the best and fastest way to proceed with membership.

- As 2021 approaches, MDRT is developing plans to continue delivering value for our members around the world. MDRT currently intends to conduct in-person, live events throughout 2021. If any in-person events are considered unsafe or restricted by governmental or other authorities, MDRT would modify the format of that meeting to an alternative format, including virtual. The health and safety of MDRT members has and always will be our top priority. MDRT will continue to communicate with members and keep all informed of the situation as the year progresses.

What is the best way to apply for 2021 membership?

The following special rules apply for those who were MDRT members in 2019 or 2020:
- The production requirement for eligibility has been waived. They may join without meeting the published 2021 production requirement.
- Members may apply at a level up to the highest level achieved during either 2019 or 2020 without demonstrating qualifying production. Example: If the member achieved Court of the Table membership in either 2019 or 2020, they may join at either the MDRT or Court of the Table levels in 2021 without meeting the 2021 production requirement.
- If they apply at a level higher than they achieved in either 2019 or 2020, they must demonstrate qualifying production at the published 2021 production requirement. Example: If the member achieved Court of the Table membership in either 2019 or 2020 and wants to join Top of the Table in 2021, they must submit qualifying production for Top of the Table that meets the 2021 production requirement.
Do the special rules apply to those who were members in either 2019 or 2020, or did they have to be members in both years to use the production waiver?
The person must have been a member in either 2019 or 2020.
Do those who were members in 2019 or 2020 still need to apply for membership or will they automatically be approved for 2021?
Everyone who wants to be an MDRT member for 2021 will need to submit an application and pay member dues.
If a 2019 or 2020 member was a Qualifying member with 9 years, will they still become Qualifying & Life in 2021 with no production submitted?
Yes. Progression through the member status will continue as normal.
Can they apply at any level without production?
They may apply up to the highest level they achieved during either 2019 or 2020 without demonstrating qualifying production. See the examples in the special rules above.
If someone was Court of the Table in 2019 and did not rejoin in 2020, can they apply in 2021 as Court of the Table with no production?
Yes. They can apply at any level up to the highest level in either of those years.
If a member was Qualifying & Life in 2020 but meets the criteria to apply in 2021 as Life with reduced dues, can they? How will the Attest Provision work for these members?
Yes. The normal rules related to Life with reduced dues apply. They are unaffected by the waiver of production.
The rules related to attesting to qualification apply as usual. If the person has 10 years of qualifying production at a given level (MDRT, Court of the Table, Top of the Table), they may attest to having met the required production at that level. If the person is eligible to attest to qualification, doing so would constitute “demonstrating qualifying production.” How can I check my membership status?

What are the adjusted production requirements for 2021 membership?
In recognition of the serious economic effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, MDRT has adjusted the 2021 production requirements. As MDRT has done with establishing the annual production requirements, we gathered and applied data from globally recognized sources to determine the impact of the pandemic on national economies and consumers.

Anyone who was not a member in either 2019 or 2020. This includes members prior to 2019 and first-time applicants in 2021.
Can I still apply for 2020 membership?
2020 MDRT membership remains open up to December 31, 2020. To make sure you do not miss out on a year of membership with us, the Executive Committee has decided to remove the $200 late fee traditionally applied after the March 1 membership deadline. If a member joins or renews on or before December 31, 2020, they will pay the regular rate of $550.
