Reports and Recommendations
Your work as volunteer leaders includes writing and submitting reports and recommendations to the MDRT Executive Committee for its review, consideration, and possible action. I cannot emphasize enough how important these efforts are to MDRT. We depend on your insights and concepts to move the organization forward in meaningful and impactful ways to serve our members.
Reports and recommendations are separate documents and templates for each are available from MDRT staff. In October and March of your leadership year, you will submit reports to the Executive Committee containing information about committee goals and objectives, actions to achieve them, challenges you have faced, and new opportunities. Reports also give you the opportunity to acknowledge high performing volunteers. Separately, official recommendations are required to obtain funds, change policies or procedures, and implement a new initiative. Sometimes a suggestion can be acted on without a formal recommendation. Your staff liaison can assist you in determining if one is needed.
In any report or recommendation, share key points first, and then support them with facts and information about actions taken. Be clear and concise, but ensure you include enough details, so the Executive Committee has a complete picture. Thank you in advance for your reports and recommendations to drive MDRT's success and growth. We are grateful for all of our volunteer leaders. Thank you for all that you do and all that you will continue to do for your fellow MDRT members.
