Zach Mory comes from the small town of Cottage Grove, WI, a few miles southeast of Madison, WI. Initially trained as a life drawer, his work slowly turned towards the abstract and non-objective possibilities of art making as his undergraduate schooling continued at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. In the spring of 2008, he received his MFA from UW-Madison with a concentration in drawing.

Zach’s work has been featured in New American Paintings, Starry Night’s Artists to Look Out For, Studio Visit, and Dialogist among others. Most recently, he was selected as a top five jurors pick at Artprize 2014,as a finalist for the Celeste Prize in Milan, Italy, and was also selected as a juried pick for Artslant’s 2014 Showcase series for which he was awarded a solo exhibition in Chicago, IL.

Since his graduation he has taught various courses throughout Wisconsin and Illinois at UW-Madison, Carthage College, Lawrence University, Ripon College, Waubonsee Community College and most recently at the College of DuPage in their graphic design program.

He currently lives in Glen Ellyn, IL with his wife Melanie and their beautiful baby daughter Josephine.
